WIGHT DOULAS SERVICES
Before you
decide to hire me as your doula I will arrange a
convenient date and time to come and meet you and any birth partners. It is
very important that we get on, as I am to be supporting you at a very important
and private time in your life. At this first meeting we would discuss what you
were wanting in a doula and what you foresee your
requirements to be.
For
this consultation there will be no charge and definitely no obligation to hire
me. I will then leave you to make your decision and contact me if you wish to
employ me as your doula.
BIRTH
DOULA
My
birth doula fee is a set amount of £250. This
includes:
- 2 antenatal visits of
between 1- 2 hours. In these visits the main aim is for us to get to know
each other and build up a trust between us. We will also use this time to
discuss the details of the sort of labour and birth that you are hoping
for and discuss your options. We can put together your birth plan, or
discuss one you have already formed. We will also discuss any concerns
that you may have about your pregnancy, impending labour and birth. I will
also be available for unlimited emails and phone calls to answer any
questions or concerns or just to talk things through.
- For 2 weeks before and 2
weeks after your due date I will be on call 24 hours a day ready for you
to go into labour. You can call me at anytime during this period. I will
then come and support you in your labour and stay with you for as long as
it takes.
- After the birth I include 1
postnatal visit, to see how things are going for you and your new family.
I will use this visit to talk through the birth and discuss how you are
feeling, and discuss if you may want or need any postnatal support.
If at any stage you feel that you require me to make
additional antenatal visits, or attend classes or clinics with you, this can be
arranged at an hourly rate.
POST-NATAL
DOULA
My fee
for a postnatal doula is £12 per hour.
As a
postnatal doula my aim is to try and make things a
little easier for you and your family. Some of my postnatal services include:
- Offer emotional support and
breast feeding advice if needed.
- Carrying out numerous
practical tasks including making drinks and snacks for you. I can look
after your new baby whilst you rest, or mind older children whilst you are
feeding/caring for your baby.
- Carrying out household jobs
such as laundry, ironing, tidying, changing nappies or preparing
feeds/bottles. I am also happy to cook meals for you in your home or
prepare them in advance for the freezer.
By doing
these things it should allow you and your family some quality bonding time with
your new baby, or maybe enable you to get some much needed sleep. The aim is to
help you ease into a new life with your precious baby.
